Rain Gages (SWMM)
In a SWMM network, rain gages provide the source of precipitation data and can be associated with either a rainfall profile from a rainfall event or from a scalar Time Series Database (TSDB) via a TVD connector.
Rain gages can then be associated with a:
- Subcatchment - to allow a time series of rainfall inflows per unit area for the subcatchment to be included in a simulation.
- Unit Hydrograph Group - to model, for example, the extra RDII inflow during and immediately after rainfall events, caused, for example, by seepage of rainwater into defective pipes
Rain gages can be digitised directly on the GeoPlan Window, and their parameters can be edited in the Rain Gage Grid Window of the Points Grid or the Rain Gage Property Sheet.
